Project Kickstand – Clif Bar’s 20th Anniversary
What’s the coolest thing a company can do for its employees? Often companies recognize hard working employees with monthly awards or free parking spaces. Other companies provide free lunches, extra days of vacation, or casual Fridays. Bay Area company Clif Bartook it up a big notch. They gave ALL of their employees a free custom bike inscribed with the individual’s name and the date they started working for the company. It was one of the greatest acts of corporate generosity for employees we have heard of and PUBLIC was proud to play a part.
Last December we started working on a special project called “Project Kickstand” for our friends at Clif Bar. Clif Bar Co-CEOs Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford wanted to surprise each of their 300+ employees with a custom PUBLIC bike as part of the company’s 20th Anniversary.

才剛說 Tom LaMarche 最近都沒新影片 馬上就在 昨天 Po上 一個非常舒服的影片 極高360下落差
而且 還要先臀跳上一個大約75公分的石階 上去後沒有時間讓你考慮 踩一下 就要下落差了. 所以這告訴我們 不是只要猛 而是也要會收力 不然一般人直接從那麼高跳下來 早就彈出去了 還360 真希望看到下屆 世界杯Redbull 大賽 可以看到 Tom LaMarche 參加, 看看魔王 能不能拿到冠軍 !

Aspid GT-21 Invictus
Spanish company Aspid just revealed their GT-21 Invictus, powered by the latest generation BMW V8 engine that delivers 450 horsepower. From 0-60 in under 3 seconds and a top speed at 189 miles per hour. Its weight is only 2,182 pounds thanks to composite body panels and a spaceframe chassis. Aspid is currently aiming to start building its newest model in 2014, but there's no word on pricing yet. Watch the video, the car looks cool.

blink(1), A Hackable USB LED Indicator Light

blink(1) is a hackable LED indicator light that plugs into any USB port. It's a USB indicator light, a fully programmable indicator of new emails, weather conditions, Twitter notifications… anything you want. Do you want to know if a friend has signed onto Skype, but don’t want a window popping up every time anyone has logged on? Do you want to be notified when a long download has finished? Do you want to know the snow conditions at Tahoe without checking every hour? Do you want to make a “busy” light for your office that glows red when your calendar says you’re in a meeting? You can do all four at once: you can simultaneously control as many blink(1)s as you have USB ports. Have a 36-port USB hub? Flat Free Wheels
每次出門路騎一直爆胎嗎? 很生氣嗎?
As we’ve often said a flat tire can be annoying. While it won’t ruin the day, it can ruin a bike ride. But @cme is a new brand that is looking to solve an old and all too common problem. The company, which was founded by bicycle industry veteran Steve Boehmke, looks to solve the flat tire problem.
Currently in a Kickstarter campaign to raise funding, Boehmke’s concept is aimed at causal riders who might be turned off from riding because of flats. The company developed and introduced its no-flat tire system. The catch is that the system works on very specific sized rims and are a bit difficult to install. The tires also weigh more than most traditional tires too, but the tire is rated to last 3000 miles and the company can build the wheels, pre-mount the tires and ship them to users for use on the rider’s bikes.
The specially built rims are also lined with a reflective strip on each side, which will make it very easy for drivers to see the wheels at night.
So while this probably won’t appeal to many serious riders, this could be very welcoming to the casual rider who doesn’t just hate changing tires but has no way of even doing so!

好久沒幹古了!!!
大家講的負五通 常常有人在問
我到底要買負五通的車 還是正常五通的車
所謂負五通 其實 就是高五通的意思 五通是哪裡 五通就是 立管跟下管的轉接點 中間可以放曲柄中心軸的地方
早期 fixed gear 多半都是低五通, 因為 騎車正常舒服的姿勢 是坐著 所以五通低的話 腳比較可以伸直 重心也會比較穩 坐墊也比較不用拉那麼高 , 自從fixed gear 延伸出來 玩招掛 也就是 fgfs 的群眾 很多招 都變站著了
所以開始有人將bmx的設計 引導進入 fgfs 較高的五通 , 也多了26吋選擇
不知道將來會不會有24吋 .
為什麼要較高的五通
是方便 卡前後火箭筒時
車台的底部和後下插 比較不容易 撞到
所以 設計
車台的 五通
比前後輪的中心軸點 高 , 前後輪的中心軸就是
鎖螺絲的位置. 這樣在卡雙
火箭筒的時候
車台的五通 就不會 直接撞到卡的東西 可以讓車子 滑行,
另外 , 如果在一個 平台上 你只卡後面的火箭筒 前輪在平台的上方 這種卡法,高五通的
車台 後下插也比較不會在你
下來時 撞到平台.
反之 後輪在平台上面
卡前面的火箭筒 也一樣
車台的五通也是不會撞到 平台
除非你跳下來的時候 角度沒抓好 .
還有一些族群的人 一樣是習慣 用踏板來卡 平台 這族群的人多半 是700c 而且不裝火箭筒 練的好的人 不用高的五通車台 一樣可以做出很多好的動作
fgfs界
的猛哥Tom La
Marche 就常常沒有裝火箭筒 而且用700c 來卡一些東西
不過如果要卡欄杆的話 用踏板 可能會比較吃力. 不過也是有人這樣搞!
其實沒有什麼限制 也沒有什麼道理 只要你覺得ok 就ok.
現在 700c 也有高五通的車台讓消費者使用, 也可以選擇裝或不裝火箭筒
只是26吋正常五通跟 10m m的車台 已經少了, 因為會選擇 26吋的玩家多半是想 催招, 不然換26其實意義不大, 除了耍帥 潮流或是崇拜 跟隨 也是ok拉!
所以 大家說的負五通
其實就是五通高於 前後輪的中心點 至於高多少 看每個車場設定 高太多的車也不見得是好事. 因為腳一直縮著其實沒有那麼舒服! 也可以在前插長度來做小調整.
所以要選擇 高五通
或是正常五通 26 或是700c 10m m軸心 或是14m m軸心
其實在購買前就要想好你的動機是什麼, 如果還年輕有意圖想要 催一下
就不用考慮了 就選擇 玩招車, 如果根本對催招
一點興趣都沒有,我也建議千萬不要買玩招的車,因為你會覺得很難騎, 不如好好的組一台 競輪 弄得漂漂亮亮還比較實際, 將來要賣 也比較好價錢.
還有另一個族群 就是很想玩招
但是基於年紀或是體型 體力 或是性別 問題的
可以選擇的種類就比較少了, 可能要找 有一點點玩招感覺的車 但又不要全部玩招的設定, 這族群的人
可以選擇一些較
輕 玩招的車台
零件設定 就可以稍微
往競輪方向 回去一點, 在可以小玩 路騎
又輕鬆為宗旨來設定整台車.
可以 在組車的時候
跟購買的車商
討論 你想要的方向,相信有足夠的預算 都可以完成!
如果是這樣想法的朋友 我會比較建議700c
最近常聽到 練招的人變少了 其實應該是約騎車的人約到懶了 ! 大家一起騎車 總是那幾個在約, 約久了不是也會煩, 搞得好像 務必要約你出來練車一樣! 所以這些人懶的約
本身不是那麼熱血的玩家就會慢慢不出來了,
一堆人練車其實約的人 帶的人很辛苦的, 尤其是教的人 在旁邊鼓勵的人 更是辛苦,
沒人騎車其實沒關西, 練車有時候是自己對自己要求
自己喜歡挑戰自己,每次練車都有進步一點點, 有一點點期許, 慢慢完成朋友或是影片裡的動作
自己一個人其實也可以練習,也可以很開心, 遇到合的來的朋友 當然會一起練下去!
不練招的朋友也沒有什麼不好,騎騎車吹吹風,又環保又能運動! 是一個好的活動!
偶而也可以挑戰一下 爬山! 競輪用的肌耐力 體力, 我想絕對不會輸玩招用的耐力!
